GROUP BENEFITS COVERAGE

Extended Health Plan

  • Prescription drug coverage less a $2.00 deductible for each prescription/refill.
  • Hospital care, outpatient services, semi-private hospital room.
  • Prescription lenses (eye-glasses or contacts) or laser eye correction surgery up to $150 every 2 years.
  • Out of Province care for emergency and referred services.
  • Emergency Travel Assistance.
  • Medically necessary products and services such as ambulance transportation, casts, braces, crutches, orthotic inserts, etc.
  • Paramedical series such as licensed psychologists, massage therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, naturopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors, ophthalmologists, optometrists, etc. when ordered by a physician.

Dental Plan

  • 100% coverage of regular preventative procedures including cleaning, fluoride treatment, extraction, x-rays, TMJ appliances, etc.
  • 100% coverage of basic procedures including fillings, oral surgery, root canals, periodontal surgery, etc.
  • 50% coverage of major procedures such as crowns, dentures, orthodontics, etc.
  • Coverage is based on fees listed in the Dental Association Fee Guide.

Out of Province (Travel) Medical Insurance

  • Emergency medical coverage while you are traveling.
  • Check your specific requirements and your Sun Life policy. You may not need to purchase additional travel insurance when you travel.

Life Insurance

  • Coverage for two times your annual basic earnings for most employees.
  • Dependent coverage for spouse and children.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

  • Coverage is equal to life insurance coverage, times a specified percentage depending the type of the loss suffered
  • Includes spouse's occupational training benefit and child education benefit.

Short Term Disability Insurance

  • Covers your wages if become totally disabled.

Matching Defined Contribution Pension Plan

  • Upon eligibility, Standen's will match 100% of your pension contributions to this plan up to 5% of your regular earnings.
  • This is an excellent way to double your retirement savings and benefit from the tax savings as well.
  • Full vested after 2 years of contributions. This means that 100% of Standen's contributions belong to the employee after two years.
